Typical light household duties include washing the children’s laundry and changing their sheets weekly; prepping the children’s food and feeding the children; washing or putting away dishes; sanitizing bottles, toys, and surfaces; stocking diapers and other items; and emptying the diaper pail as needed.

Legal Pay Rate Offered Per Hour? *

We require all families to pay legally by W-2 payment in accordance with the domestic payment laws of the country. 1099’s are illegal in the industry. Also, nannies and domestic employees must be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours in one work week (please calculate the hourly rate accordingly). For your convenience, we have partnered with GTM Payroll & HR a nanny and domestic payroll company, to help you facilitate paying your nanny and domestic employee legally. This will ensure all parties are tax compliant. *Please note that we do not provide tax or legal advice. Please reach out to a payroll service, your accountant, or an attorney to go over tax compliance.*

All Nannies and Household Staff we place look for the following benefits: two weeks of paid time off, 3 paid sick days, paid major holidays, continued pay while the family is away, and paid mileage (Driving on the job, not to and from work) or nanny car to drive on the job, and an annual performance-based bonus. Health stipend or benefits and a 401 k are optional benefits, but a plus if you can offer either of those benefits as well.

Step-by-Step: How Our Placement Process Works

1. Submit an Application & Registration Fee
Begin your search by filling out the family application and paying the $350 registration fee. If you have any questions before applying, reach out to us at 980-292-1045.

2. Welcome Email & Consultation Scheduling
Within 24–48 hours, we’ll send a welcome email and schedule a call to discuss your family’s unique needs for a nanny or household staff.

3. Personalized Intake Call
On the intake call, you’ll speak with a dedicated placement coordinator to review your specific needs in detail, the placement process, and legal pay requirements for household employees.

4. Client Agreement & Guarantee
We’ll send over a client agreement outlining our placement terms, process, and one-time replacement guarantee for long-term placements. You’ll review and sign this agreement electronically.

5. Custom Job Description Creation
Our team will draft a tailored job description based on your needs and send it to you for review. Once approved, we’ll post the description and start the active search.

6. Sourcing Candidates
We review profiles from our database, which includes thousands of local candidates, and launch a customized recruitment strategy across our network, job boards, and social media to find your ideal candidate.

7. Candidate Profile Delivery
As we identify qualified nannies or household professionals, we’ll email you detailed candidate profiles to review. These are sent on a rolling basis as suitable candidates become available.

8. Interview Coordination
Once you’ve selected candidates to meet, we’ll schedule Zoom and in-person interviews, or we can go straight to in-person interviews, depending on your preference.

9. Selecting Your New Nanny or Household Professional
After interviews, you’ll notify us of the candidate you’d like to move forward with and contingently offer the position to. This is contingent on your review of the references and background check

10. Extending the Offer
We present the offer to your selected nanny or domestic candidate on your behalf.

11. Background Check & References
Upon offer acceptance, we conduct the most comprehensive nationwide background check and provide a detailed reference report compiled from our direct calls to each reference. Families are encouraged to follow up with references as well.

12. Work Agreement Completion
We provide a customizable work agreement template, which includes key employment terms, expectations, and benefits. You may use this template or provide your own version. Once finalized, it’s sent to the candidate for review and electronic signature.

13. Placement Fee Invoice
Once the work agreement is signed, your family will receive an invoice for the final placement fee.

14. Final Contact Exchange & Placement Completion
We exchange contact information between you and your new nanny or household professional. At this point, your placement is complete!

Replacement Search Guarantee

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency fully stands behind all nanny and household placements. Each long-term, full-time placement comes with a 12-month replacement search guarantee, and long-term, part-time placements come with a 90-day replacement search guarantee. While we stand behind temporary placements as well, temporary placements do not come with a replacement search guarantee.

Backup Care

Your next question may be, “So what do I do if my nanny is sick or going on vacation or is sick and cannot work?” At Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency, we have you covered. We provide backup care and services for families when a nanny is out of work or sick. For all current clients who successfully place a long-term nanny through Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency, whether full or part-time, we will waive the first year of the annual registration fee. While we cannot provide a 100% guarantee that we will be able to confirm a backup care provider for each need (All backup placements are reliant on the current backup care provider’s availability). We do make every effort to confirm a backup care provider when requested.

Backup Care and Babysitting Placements

  Are you looking for a reliable backup care provider or babysitter in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding area? We’ve got you covered. Contact Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency for all your backup care, date night, evening out, special event, or weekend needs. The backup care sitters and nannies we place provide expert childcare services. We place professional, pre-screened, and experienced sitters you can trust to provide your children with an enriching environment. Whether you need backup care, occasional care, or a last-minute sitter, our experienced babysitters and nannies are available to meet your family’s unique needs. Let us help you find a sitter or nanny that will enable you to enjoy your time away, knowing your children are in the best hands.

If we are able to confirm a backup provider or babysitter for your need, we charge a daily placement fee of $30.00 a day (with more than 24-hour notice) and $60.00 a day (with less than 24-hour notice). Each family is responsible for paying the backup nanny directly at a pre-negotiated hourly rate at the end of each shift. Hourly rates are negotiable and dependent on the number of children cared for and the provider’s experience and expertise.
